CONCERT COSTUME DEPOSITSHave you completed the required Concert Permission note and paid your deposit for costumes for each dance your child is participating in. Dance Avenue endeavours to keep costume prices reasonable, however the rising cost of materials and dressmaking costs need to be taken into account. We still have some Troupe costume payments outstanding, could you please organise payment as soon as possible. CONCERT T SHIRT ORDERSThis year’s concert is our 5th Anniversary and the 2011 concert T-Shirt will acknowledge this. Please complete the order form and return with payment of $20 before the 24th September. Each year, there are disappointed students who do not get their orders in by the given date. Remind each other! Check the noticeboards! Come into the studio and enquire! CONGRATULATIONS AND THANK YOUThank You for the prompt arrival to all participating in Troupe events. We have had some fantastic results. Our senior 4 – 9 Music Lyrical placed first in Mc Donald’s Challenge. This is a tremendous result and a big thank you to the students involved and to Miss Jess. Abbey McPherson won the Level 5 Glenn Wood Tap Choregraphy Competition. This was a national event and a great effort. Well done Abbey!! Sophie Wilson won her state championships and made it to nationals for gymnastics in which she placed second. Sophie & Jessica Wilson both placed first in singing at the Penrith Eistddfod. Hayley Cassar & Kasey Alexander placed 1st in their contemporary competition at Doonside. Well done girls. CHANTELLE MORRELLOur singing teacher Chantelle has just recently been on the television show the X-Factor. Keep an eye out for her performance. She did extremely well. Chantelle made it to the final 6 girls for the under 25 female singers. A great effort!!
BULLYINGUnfortunately Bullying is a serious and increasing issue in our society. Dance Avenue wishes to address this matter, as sadly some incidents have occurred which are not acceptable. Too often the blame is directed at others, by those who are in fact guilty of the bullying. We are asking parents to support us with Anti-Bullying. Speaking to your child about virtues is a family responsibility. Honesty! Treating others with Courtesy! If there isn’t anything nice to say, then don’t say anything at all! No one is perfect. We all make mistakes. However, there are rules and to grow as a person we all need to learn what is acceptable and not acceptable. STAGE NIGHTStage night was a great success. A big thank you to all that performed and helped on the night.
SHOPPING TRIPThank You to the parents and friends who are coming along on our Dance Avenue Shopping Bus Tour. We appreciate your support. There are still seats available. We are hoping to raise funds towards a Ballet floor mat which is a requirement in the 2012 syllabus and will also assist in our acrobatic classes.
ACCOUNTSPlease make sure all accounts are paid up before the end of term 3 to avoid a late fee.
